Lena Walton Herfindal
Bløma
25 May – 24 June 2023
Departing from the body and emphasizing interpersonal encounters, Herfindal creates jewellery, embroidery, drawing and body-related work. Central themes in Herfindal's artistry are nature, anatomy and her Native American roots. Over the past year, Herfindal has explored embroidery as a new starting point in the artistic world. In the exhibition Bløma, she shows the processes resulting from this in a series of hand-embroidered sculptural forms with colourful patterns that reference indigenous art history.
Lena Walton Herfindal (b. 1985, Stord) graduated MFA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2018. She has recently exhibited in Det gule huset, Nesbru, in 2022 and Kunsthallen i Lervik, in 2020, as well as participated in serveral group exhibitions.
