Guðmundur Helgi Arnarson, Untitled Cloud, Yachi Shian-Yuan Yang
12th of August – 17th of September 2021

The exhibition Boys Love is a presentation of three international artists whose work explore the image, identity and sexuality of male youth through the lens of art history and popular culture. The exhibition is a sales exhibition that will also include other works by artists in our stock.

Guðmundur Helgi Arnarson (b. 1993, Iceland), graduated BFA from The Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KhiO) in 2020. His work deals with the exaggerated male body ideals in contemporary society. At RAM he will show the project IRL Cruising/0m Away, a series of bronze brooches shaped like muscular men’s torsos. The brooches are inscribed with texts gathered from gay dating apps and patinated in the sex-enhancing drug Poppers.

Untitled Cloud (b.1989, Lahore, Pakistan) graduated MA from Royal College of Art, London, in 2020. He works mainly with performance and drawing as a performative act. In RAM he will show a series of drawings which the artist refers to as constellations in oil on paper.

Yachi Shuian-Yuan Yang (b. 1983, Taiwan) graduated from the Taipei National Academy of the Arts and has exhibited widely in Taiwan, Hongkong and mainland China. She works with waterbased colours on traditional Chinese rice paper in a colourful style that mixes influences from European Modrnism and Asian painting traditions.
